In the past year, in partnership with many of you, we made it more convenient than ever before for the Australian public to access our free e-waste recycling service.
A free recycling service available to all Australians and small businesses is central to the provision of the NTCRS Co-Regulatory Arrangement requirements. To deliver this obligation, TechCollect provides a number of collection services across Australia. Consisting of permanent locations and one-off e-waste collection events, many of our sites are operated in conjunction with various Local Government Authorities, waste management organisations and retail partners.
Services are proportionally divided across metropolitan, inner regional, outer regional and remote regions, ensuring an equitable provision of services – even to the most remote of communities. Visibility and reach have become definable hallmarks of TechCollect’s service in recent years.
ANZRP advocates that is it critical for LGAs to be part of the Scheme and provide their residents with the option to utilise an accredited and standards-based e-waste management and recycling service.
In 2018 we welcomed over 140 new collection sites to our already extensive network, bringing our current total to almost 260. We hope that the increase in number as well as the convenient location of many of these sites will make dropping off e-waste for recycling much more attractive to the regular Australian consumer and small business.
A warm welcome to those who have joined us, we look forward to working with you and treading new territory in what is already shaping up to be a very large year for e-waste recycling. Keep an eye out in the coming months for the release of our Collection Partner survey, in which we would welcome your feedback and the opportunity to address any issues.
