Help us create awareness about the need for responsible e-waste recycling in Australia and around the world on International E-Waste Day, every October.

 Did you know?

  • More than 50 million tonnes of e-waste is generated globally each year.
  • Electronic waste is the fastest growing waste stream in the world.
  • Aussies trash 22 million printers, keyboards, mice and peripherals a year.
  • Australians have recycled enough e-waste through the TechCollect program to build the Sydney Harbour Bridge with the steel alone!

 What can we do?

Everyone has a role to play in changing consumer habits and moving towards a circular economy.

Once your electronic device reaches its end-of-life, recycling is the next step in the product’s lifecycle. Reusing these valuable resources in the manufacture of new products closes the loop.

TechCollect provides a free, simple, environmentally-responsible solution. There are over 250 TechCollect drop-off sites around Australia where you can take your old/unused electronics and ensure they are responsibly recycled.

 Be part of the solution:

  1. Take a look around your house/office for old, unused electronics.
  2. Wipe data, say goodbye, perform any farewell ceremonies.
  3. Find out what we take here.
  4. Find your nearest TechCollect site here.
  5. Drop off your unwanted e-waste for free.

About International E-Waste Day

International E-Waste Day was developed by the WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) Forum, an international association of e-waste collection schemes comprised of 36 members from 29 countries, including Australia and New Zealand Recycling Platform (ANZRP). International E-Waste Day aims to raise the public profile of responsible e-waste recycling and encourage consumers to get old electronics out of their drawers and into reputable drop-off locations.
